stickdrift.app is operated from Australia and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
This policy applies to all users of stickdrift.app whether you use the site anonymously or with a registered account. By using stickdrift.app you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.
This policy is governed by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you have questions about this policy please contact us via the stickdrift.app website.
stickdrift.app is a free community platform for testing and tracking controller stick drift. The site allows users to test their gaming controllers using the browser Gamepad API and submit results to a public community leaderboard.
References to 'we', 'us' or 'stickdrift.app' in this policy refer to the operator of stickdrift.app, based in Australia.
If you create a free account on stickdrift.app we collect:
We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, physical addresses or any government identifiers. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service.
If you use stickdrift.app without creating an account we do not collect your name or email address. However we do store the following:
When you submit a drift test result stickdrift.app collects your IP address for spam prevention and rate limiting purposes. Your IP address is immediately converted to a one-way cryptographic hash before being stored. The original IP address is never stored.
The hashed value cannot be reversed to identify your IP address. It is used only to detect and prevent abuse such as bulk fake submissions or attempts to manipulate the leaderboard.
When you connect a controller and run a test the browser Gamepad API returns a controller ID string which may include information about the controller model and connection type. This string is stored as part of your test submission and is used to identify the controller model.
We do not collect information about your browser version, operating system, screen size or other device characteristics beyond what is described in this policy.
All drift test results you submit — whether as an anonymous user or an account holder — become the property of stickdrift.app as set out in our Terms of Use. This data is displayed publicly on the leaderboard and controller pages and may be used in aggregated statistics and research.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
We do not use your personal information for advertising purposes. We do not display targeted advertising on stickdrift.app.
stickdrift.app does not currently send marketing or promotional emails. The only emails we send are directly related to your account — for example authentication emails when you sign in.
If you create an account you may optionally enable email alerts for controller sale notifications and leaderboard changes. These alerts are off by default and can be turned on or off at any time from your account dashboard. They are not marketing emails — they are service alerts you have specifically requested.
We will update this policy if we introduce any new categories of email communication.

We do not use advertising cookies or third party tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar analytics service that tracks your behaviour across other websites.
